Visit Like a Local: Cruzan Rum Distillery St. Croix
You can’t think of St. Croix without the thought of Cruzan Rum entering your mind! Since 1760, Cruzan Rum has been an integral part of the Virgin Islands using fresh Crucian water and high-quality sugarcane molasses to create the one of the smoothest rums on the market.
The Cruzan Rum Distillery located in Estate Diamond has been a staple in must-do excursions on St. Croix for as long as I can remember. This walking tour took you throughout the distillery grounds where you got an up-close-and-personal look at how the rum is made. You would also learn about the history and culture of St. Croix and how the brand became synonymous with St. Croix. The tour would end with several cocktails and rum samplings in their tasting room that had you feeling especially nice!

When tours were suspended in 2020 due to the global pandemic, locals and visitors patiently waited for them to resume as the world slowly started reopening to the public. After 4 LOOOOOOOOONG years, Cruzan Rum Distillery Tours resumed on Monday, March 11th! Seeing the return of this Crucian experience brings my heart so much joy as it was something that we’ve truly missed. They’ve completely remodeled the visitor center and made a few changes to enhance the experience. I haven’t taken the tour as of this post BUT trust and believe that I’ll be making an update once I do!

WHAT: Cruzan Rum Distillery Tour
WHEN: Monday through Friday at 12pm, 1:30pm and 3pm
WHERE: Cruzan Rum Distillery, 3A Estate Diamond in Frederiksted
COST: $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 4-17. Local rate is $15 for adults (local ID must be presented upon arrival)
