Will Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 Change Air Travel?

The inevitable truth was revealed earlier this week about the Malaysian Airlines Flight 370. I was absolutely saddened to hear about the findings that are said to be pieces of the aircraft in the Indian Ocean. Thinking about the fear those people may have had as the plane went down, I can’t even begin to imagine the thoughts that went through their minds.

In talking with friends about the recent discovery, the topic of conversation came up about whether or not the news of what happened to the flight along with all the other recent happenings in airline travel has deterred you from traveling on an aircraft. My answer is an unequivocal NO! Some of my friends were shocked to hear that I would still travel amidst all the things happening with air travel today. I explained to them that traveling for me is my life’s dream! I love going to new countries to explore a different culture and to see a way of life opposite of my own. To enjoy the foods and partake in the activities of a new country is what motivates me to save my pennies paycheck after paycheck as a means to fund my next vacation. This got me to thinking. If I were to allow all bad things to stop me from living my life, could you imagine the number of things I would have to stop doing? Here is a list I came up with of things I would have to stop doing because of fear:

  1. Driving a car because I could potentially get in an accident
  2. Falling in love because I would risk getting my heart broken
  3. Trusting people because they may disappoint me and/or let me down
  4. Gaining new skills and learning new things because it may be a waste of time
  5. Trying to get a new job because I may not get it
  6. Trying new foods out of fear that I may not like it

I can literally go on and on with this list but I figured 6 points were sufficient. You get my drift. If we were to stop living life and experiencing all that it has to offer because we were afraid, hurt, worried or nervous, we would all be sitting around twiddling our thumbs watching Maury on TV. At least by watching that, we would get some excitement in our lives because that is exactly what we would be lacking if were to allow things to stop us.

shit-happens-life-goes-on

Life is short and we have to accept the fact that SHIT HAPPENS! People die, hearts get broken and friendships end. At the same time, new life comes into the world when babies are born, people get married & live happily ever after and friends support you throughout the ups and downs that LIFE throws your way. In my experience, I’ve learned that I wouldn’t appreciate all of the good things in my life if it weren’t for all the “bad” things that I’ve experienced. Do you agree with this or am I just talking crazy??? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Now if only I can meet the man that will walk into my life and make me see why it didn’t work out with anyone else… but that’s another post for another day lol

Until next time,
